Maranacook scored three runs in the first inning and then held on late to edge the Bulldogs in a Class C South prelim.

Nick Florek had a two-run single and Luke McLaughlin added an RBI single to give the Black Bears (13-5) the lead.

Alex Trafton and Brayden St. Pierre also doubled for the Bears.

Hall-Dale (7-10) scored two in the top of the fifth. Kai Lucas and Jackson Leach each had RBI singles for the Bulldogs. Lucas finished with three singles.

Florek pitched two flawless innings in relief of Trafton to earn the save. Trafton (4-2) pitched five innings, allowing two runs while striking out eight.
