Al Ballou hit a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to end a shutout and send the Rebels (1-0) past the Cougars (0-1) in both teams’ season opener in Bethel.

Brody Walker earned the win, striking out 10 and walking one batter in seven innings. At the plate, Walker hit two doubles and one single.

Trevor Crosby pitched well for Dirigo, striking out nine and walking four batters in five innings.
