A three-run second inning and four-run fourth inning propelled the Hornets to a season-opener win over the Tigers on Tuesday in Turner.
Abby Albert (1-0) pitched 3.66 innings for Leavitt (1-0) and Hailey Cyr pitched 3.23 innings, keeping Gardiner (0-1) to only four hits.
Sam Deblois hit a home run, and Kylee Spugnardi and Hailey Turcotte tripled for the Hornets. Abby Albert scored a double.
Brynnlea Chaisson hit two singles for the Tigers.
