Libby Hooper and Jane Flynn scored less than three minutes apart early in the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie as Portland/Cape Elizabeth/Deering/South Portland/Waynflete (8-3) beat Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic/Fryeburg/Lake Region/Westbrook (8-3) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Marina Bassett had a goal and two assists for Portland, which was ranked fourth in this week’s Varsity Maine poll. Hartson Mosunic also scored, and Erin Winship made 27 saves for the Bulldogs.

Third-ranked Gorham got goals from Isabel Brito, Emerson Homa and Azalea Grant.
