LEAVITT, LINCOLN ACADEMY SPLIT: Abby Albert held Lincoln Academy to one hit – a leadoff single by Payson Kaler – and Leavitt scored five runs in the first inning to earn a 5-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader in Newcastle.
Lily Chabot hit a triple and a single for the Hornets. Sara Perkins had two singles.
In Game 2, Grace Houghton allowed two hits in Lincoln’s 2-0 victory.
Lincoln (2-1) scored in the first and third innings.
Hailey Turcotte went the distance for Leavitt (2-3), allowing four hits. Albert had a double for the Hornets.
