Owen Bryant finally settled this hard-fought Class B South matchup, scoring a layup off an inbound play at the buzzer to give the Phoenix (3-0) a victory over the Greyhounds (2-1) in Jay.
The teams entered the fourth quarter tied 36-36, but Lisbon pulled away and led by 10 points with about two minutes left. Spruce Mountain, using only a six-player rotation for the entire game, battled back and forced overtime with a shot by Jayden Perreault (five points) at the buzzer.
Bryant led all scorers with 18 points, 12 of those coming in the fourth quarter and overtime. Jace Bessey added 14 and Ian York 10 for Spruce Mountain.
Lisbon was led by Levi Tibbets’ 17 points. Mason Booker added 12 and Charlie Doyle scored 10.
