Levi Laverdiere singled twice in the second inning and once in the third inning to lead the Mustangs to a win over the Bulldogs in Monmouth.
Monmouth (4-1) jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Laverdiere’s single, scoring two runs. Brandon Smith, Lucas Harmon and Rory Foyt doubled while Isaac Cote and Laverdiere singled.
Laverdiere pitched three innings, giving up zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking two.
Madison (0-4) tallied one hit, a single by Griffin Aldrich off Monmouth reliever Kyle Lepage.
