Kyle Palleschi pitched a two-hit shutout as the Mustangs (2-0) blanked the Falcons (0-2) in Mountain Valley’s home opener played at Harlow Park in Dixfield.

Palleschi struck out 11 batters and walked one. At the plate, he hit a double. Lucas Harmon had three hits, while Sammy Calder and Rory Foyt each tallied two hits, two RBIs and a stolen base for Monmouth.

Josh Pollis had one of Mountain Valley’s two hits and pitched five innings on the mound, giving up two earned runs while collecting six strikeouts and one walk. Seneca Jones pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out one.
