The Phoenix plated seven runs in the top of the fifth and nine in the sixth to earn a six-inning mercy rule win over the Falcons at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.

Spruce Mountain (3-1) was scoreless through three innings and trailed 2-0 before scoring its first two runs in the fourth.

Leah Burgess tallied three hits, including a triple, and three RBIs, and Jaydn Pingree had two hits and drove in four runs for the Phoenix. Tyoaka Hodgkin, Samantha Hodgkin and Makiinlee Holt drove in two runs apiece, and Samantha Martin scored four runs.

Spruce Mountain pitcher Rylee Turner struck out 10 batters and earned the win.

Madisyn McLean tripled and singled for Mountain Valley. Brooke Brown doubled and Malorie Bourret also had a pair of hits.
