Annie Whitmore scored seven of her 13 points down the stretch as the Red Riots (6-4) slipped past the Trojans (7-3) in South Portland.
Whitmore made four free throws and a 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to help South Portland rally from a nine-point deficit. Emma Travis led the Red Riots with 17 points. Caleigh Corcoran scored 10 and Mya Lawrence made three 3-pointers for nine points.
Addisen Sulikowski paced Thornton with 26 points. Emma Lizotte folllowed with 12.
