The Cougars (2-0) put up 18 runs in the first inning and put away the Black Bears (1-3) in three innings in Dixfield.
Lana Waite pitched all three innings and held Maranacook/Winthrop hitless. She also hit a triple and had two RBIs.
Aleiah Ward and Nikole Turnbull each hit a home run and drove in five runs. Ward also had a double, as did Keira Reny.
