The Hornets (9-2) offense came alive in the third and fourth innings to finish off the Purple Panthers (3-7) in five innings in Turner.
Leavitt trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, but freshman Trent Holst tripled to give the Hornets a shot in the arm. Holst also singled and finished the game with four RBIs. Colten Taylor and Luke Gladu each doubled for Leavitt. Taylor also scattered three hits in five innings on the mound while striking out six to earn the win.
