Brady Philbrick dropped in 18 points to lead the Cougars (1-0) to a season-opening win over the Falcons (0-1) in Dixfield.
Liam Malchisky also had a big game for Dirigo, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Dylan Theriault led Mountain Valley with 11 points, and Logan Crews scored nine.
