Rio Soram’s layup with six seconds remaining enabled the Breakers (3-1) to survive a fourth-quarter comeback by the Bucks (2-3) in Freeport.
Buckfield trailed by nine entering the fourth quarter but fought back to take the lead.
Collin Verrill paced Pine Tree with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Ben Christman and Rhett Tyson each added 10 points. Soram finished with eight points.
Krosby Harvey (13 points), Brayden Monto (13), Trenton Haskell (10) and Nate Thomas (10) each scored in double figures for Buckfield.
