The Blue Devils (10-7) finally overtook the Cougars (9-8) in the fourth quarter to earn an important Class A North victory in Lewiston.
Lewiston trailed 38-35 after three quarters then outscored Mt. Blue 13-7 in the fourth. The victory increases the Blue Devils’ chances at the fourth seed in the A North playoffs, while the Cougars are in a battle with Hampden for the sixth seed.
Grayson Bernard scored a game-high 19 points and Joao Samba added 10 for Lewiston, which will finish the regular season at second-seeded Edward Little on Thursday.
Mt. Blue was led by Evan Drake’s 13 points and Simon Thomas’ 12. The Cougars host Oxford Hills on Thursday.
