Annie Whitmore scored 14 points, and the Red Riots (7-1) held off the Trojans (4-5) in South Portland.
The Red Riots, ranked No. 3 in the Varsity Maine poll, survived despite managing only 15 points in the second half. Mya Lawrence helped South Portland with three 3-pointers and Caleigh Corcoran scored eight points.
Thornton’s Sienna Eldred was the game’s high scorer, finishing with 17 points.
