Forest Hills 77, Temple Academy 55

Jaxson Desjardins scored 36 points and grabbed nine rebounds to pace the Forest Hills boys basketball team to 77-55 win over Temple Academy in a Class S South quarterfinal Wednesday at the Augusta Civic Center.

“Feels great,” said Desjardins. “We just got to keep the momentum going and hopefully get past the next round.”

The third-seeded Tigers (13-6) established separation on the scoreboard early on, leading the No. 6 Bereans (5-14) 20-7 after the first quarter and taking a 39-23 lead into halftime. Forest Hills then outscored Temple Academy 38-32 in the second half.

Forest Hills had two others players score in double-figures as Maddox Cuddy and Aaden Nadeau finished with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Cuddy and Desjardins, two players who have the “green light” to shoot from distance according to Forest Hills head coach Anthony Amero, combined for nine 3-pointers in the game.

Nadeau also had 10 rebounds.

“(Cuddy and Desjardins are) very good shooters, so it’s one of those deals that they look forward to shooting (3-pointers) here because they know they shoot well here,” Amero said.

Temple was led by Timeo Lepaix with 16 points, Sam Frank with 15 and Cody Connell with 12.
