Levi Laverdiere struck out eight and held the Roadrunners (0-2) scoreless over the final six innings as the Mustangs improve to 3-0 with a Class C South victory in Monmouth.
Laverdiere allowed three hits and walked one over seven innings. He also singled and drove in a run. Zane Foyt and Jake Harmon (RBI, two runs) each doubled and singled, and Logan LeClair had a hit and drove in two runs for Monmouth.
Mt. Abram opened the game with two runs in the top of the first, but the Mustangs answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, then they took the lead with another run in the second.
Brenna Mitchell had two of the Roadrunners’ three hits, including a double, and he drove in a run and scored another.
