Nathan Collins drove in two runs and Colton Jewett pitched six innings to lead the Stags (2-0) past the Spartans (0-2) in Portland.
Jewett allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out 11 and walking three. John Sprague earned the save. Scottie Sockabasin had a double for Cheverus.
Sanford’s Kiptyn Whitten pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits. He struck out two and didn’t walk a batter. Max Cote had two hits for the Spartans.
