Caiden Barnes tied the game with an RBI double in the fourth inning, Carl Gregoire followed with a two-run single, and the Knights (7-6-1) tacked on five runs in the sixth inning to pull away from the Bulldogs (0-14) at Hadlock Field in Portland.
Travis Cole highlighted the sixth-inning outburst with a two-run single.
Wesley Turnbull, a junior left-hander, struck out seven and didn’t allow an earned run in his six innings on the mound. He gave up four hits and walked none.
Jacob Johnson, Aiden Eisenhart and Tommy Chase all had two hits for Portland, which scored four runs in the seventh.
