Jaiden Meehan had three hits and scored the go-ahead run on an error in the bottom of the fifth inning as the fifth-seeded Lakers (12-5) beat the 12th-seeded Falcons (7-10) in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Naples.
Dylan Blair had an RBI single in the fourth inning to tie the game for Lake Region, which advances to play No. 4 Cape Elizabeth in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Blair also pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out six and walking one.
