Mackenzie Gammon hit a tiebreaking inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning, and the seventh-seeded Falcons (11-6) rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat the 10th-seeded Raiders (8-9) in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Rumford.
Mountain Valley tied the game with three runs in the fourth inning, then added three in the fifth. Hayden Chase and Isabella Dupuis both drew bases-loaded walks to extend the Falcons’ lead.
Addison Tidswell doubled twice and scored two runs for the Falcons, who advance to play No. 2 York on Thursday.
Fryeburg’s Presli Knapp hit a double and drove in two runs. Kara Dutton was 3 for 4.
