Freshman Ben Schimmack allowed two earned runs over 6 1/3 innings to get his first varsity victory, and the Rangers (6-5) snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Falcons (5-7).
Silas Almy broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run triple in the fifth inning, igniting a five-run outburst.
Liam Emmons and Andrew Thomas both had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for Freeport. Emmons smacked a triple and Thomas hit a double.
