Milo Taylor drove in the tying run in the sixth and singled home the winning run on an infield dribbler with one out in the eighth inning to lift the Purple Panthers (2-1) over the Tigers (0-2) in Waterville.
Derek Couture doubled, drove in two runs and scored three runs for Waterville. Wyatt Jones also doubled.
Gardiner pitcher Grayson Greeleaf struck out 14 over seven innings. Liam Verhille had three hits and two RBI to lead the Tigers’ offense.
