Ryan Shugars struck out nine and allowed just three hits over five innings as Scarborough tamed Massabesic 9-2 in a Class A South baseball matchup Thursday in Scarborough.
At the plate, Shugars tripled, drove in a run and scored a run. Leadoff hitter Finn Coburn had two hits, two runs and two RBI for the Red Storm (9-4-1), Kayson Cyr also recorded two hits and two runs, and Kaiden Carrell doubled and drove in a run.
Parker Soule-Parent fanned eight batters in four innings for Massabesic (9-5). He also had one of Massabesic’s five hits.
