Josh Pollis struck out 11 and allowed only three hits in a complete-game effort for the Falcons (6-8) as they took down the Ramblers (7-8) in Rumford.
Pollis reached 100 career strikeouts in the game. He also contributed offensively with an RBI double. Landon Theriault had team-highs of two hits and two RBI, and Kegan Jordan drove in Mountain Valley’s other run.
Two of Winthrop’s three hits were doubles by Brody Adams and Porter Lavigne. The latter drove in both of the Ramblers’ runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Winthrop’s Wyatt Grant also pitched a complete game, fanning five and allowing seven hits in six innings.
