Kirsten Bigelow’s buzzer-beater to end the first quarter was just one of many highlights for the Cavaliers (18-1) in their Class S South quarterfinal win over the Lakers (2-16) at the Augusta Civic Center.
Eighth-seeded Rangeley was limited to one point in the opening quarter and four in the first half. Top-seeded Valley, on the other hand, had scored nearly 60 points by the end of the second quarter.
Bigelow put up 29 points and Liana Hartwell added 13 for the Cavaliers.
Addison Quimby was the Lakers’ leading scorer with six points.
