Kylie Lamson went over the 1,000-point mark for her career and led undefeated Cheverus with 17 points in a 48-44 victory at Gorham.

Lamson went into the game needing 16 points to reach 1,000, and she got there with her final basket of the game with less than two minutes remaining.

Gorham (5-4) erased much of a 12-point halftime deficit but couldn’t complete the comeback against the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll.

Kristin King added 11 points for Cheverus (9-0).

Madison Milligan sank four 3-pointers to lead Gorham with 12 points. Logan Doughty scored 11 and Winni Moreland had 10.
