Joey Pompeo scored the game’s first goal, then assisted on goals by Brooke Brunelle and Sydney Brunelle, and Cheverus completed its fifth consecutive undefeated regular season by shutting out Noble, 3-0, in a Class A South field hockey game Tuesday in North Berwick.

Cheverus goalie Ellie Skolnekovich faced only two shots. Noble’s Lauren Merchant made 28 saves.

Cheverus (13-0-1), the two-time defending state champion, is ranked No. 1 in the Varsity Maine Top 10 and will be the No. 1 seed for the Class A South playoffs. The Stags extended their unbeaten streak to 50 games.

Noble (6-8) will play a preliminary-round game on Friday or Saturday.
