The Patriots (16-1) improved their chances for the No. 1 seed in Class B South by beating the Falcons (8-9) in Gray.

Freshman Bryn Gilmore scored 13 of her game-high 26 points in the third quarter as Gray-New Gloucester turned its 20-11 halftime lead into a 43-23 advantage.

Ella Kenney added 11 points for the Patriots, who can wrap up the top seed by beating fourth-place Greely (13-4) on Wednesday.

Emily Groves scored 13 points and Ky Kennedy finished with 10 for Freeport, which is looking to lock down B South’s seventh seed by beating No. 5 Poland in the regular-season finale.
