The Cougars jumped out to an early lead en route to a convincing season-opening win over the Eagles in Oakland.
Mt. Blue outscored Messalonskee 14-2 in the first quarter. Oliver Cormier led the Cougars with 18 points, while Evan Drake contributed 12 points and Cooper Abell finished with eight.
Anderson Arbour hit four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 18 points for Messalonskee. Jeziah Stone added 12 points.
