Chloe LeBlanc struck out 16 batters and pitched a one-hitter while also pacing the Red Eddies’ offense in their season-opening six-inning win over the Eagles in Oakland.
LeBlanc had four hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs. Elizabeth Galway doubled and scored two runs for Edward Little, Allie Michaud added two hits and scored a run, and Lauren Bolduc contributed a hit, a run and an RBI.
The game was scoreless until the Red Eddies plated four runs in the top of third, then they finished it off with a five-run sixth.
Lauren Swails had Messalonskee’s lone hit. She also struck out two batters.
