MONMOUTH ACADEMY 15, MARANACOOK 3, 5 INNINGS
Evelyn Pettengill struck out nine batters and had two extra-base hits to lead the unbeaten Mustangs (3-0) past the Black Bears (0-3) in five innings in Monmouth.
Pettengill doubled and tripled. She also drove in two runs and scored twice. Lila Poussard and Kaitlyn Frost also had two hits for Monmouth.
Danika Dunn had two of Maranacook’s five hits, a double and a single.
