The Cobras (1-1) built a 10-0 lead in the second inning and held off a furious comeback by the Bucks (1-3) in Buckfield.
Amiya Tibbetts drove in four runs with a triple and a single for Carrabec, and Ava Welch was 3 for 5 with two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored. Winning pitcher Jillian Robinson was 3 for 4 and drove in two runs.
Buckfield’s 3-4-5 hitters — Chloee Bennett, Brooklyn Richardson and Grace Veinott — combined for 11 hits and eight RBI. Bennett had two triples, a double and a single and scored four times, Richardson was 4 for 5 with three RBI, and Veinott was also a home run shy of a cycle while driving in three runs.
