Addison DeRoche pitched a two-hitter with 15 strikeouts to lead the visiting Stags (2-0) over the Blue Blazes (1-1) in Westbrook.
At the plate, DeRoche walked three times and had two RBI, while Hailey Lamontagne had two hits with two RBI and Abby Kelly also drove in two runs for Cheverus.
Cheverus scored five runs in the second on a a two-run single by Lamontagne, a single by Maddie Brown, a walk to DeRoche and a fielder’s choice, to open of a 7-0 lead.
Emma Boulette doubled for Westbrook.
