Brady Boissonneault had three hits, Brody Baron recorded two hits and three RBI, and the sixth-seeded Spartans (12-5) beat the 11th-seeded Rams (6-11) in a Class A South preliminary-round game in Sanford.
Sanford next faces No. 3 Chverus in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Cayden Gendron allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings to earn the win. He added two RBI and three runs scored. Collin Sevigny contribued two hits.
Jack Joyce had two hits and Theo Adams smacked a double for Kennebunk.
