Cam Dean pitched the final six innings in relief and scored the winning run on a single by Kayson Cyr in the bottom of the seventh inning as the fifth-seeded Red Storm (12-4-1) escaped with a Class A South preliminary-round victory over the No. 12 Hawks (5-12) in Scarborough.
The Red Storm pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh after Marshwood took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the top half.
Patrick Guite led Scarborough with three hits. Cyr and Finn Coburn each added two hits.
Jack Eardley had two hits for Marshwood. Michael Sbrizza went the distance on the mound, recording seven strikeouts.
Scarborough will play No. 4 Thornton Academy in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
