RICHMOND 16, VALLEY 2, 5 INNINGS
David Edwards homered, drove in three runs and scored three for the top-seeded Bobcats (16-1) in a five-inning Class D South semifinal win over the fourth-seeded Cavaliers (7-7) in Richmond.
The Bobcats will face No. 2 Telstar (14-3) or No. 3 Buckfield (11-6) in the regional final Tuesday at St. Joseph’s College.
Edwards had a double in addition to his three-run homer in the third inning. He also pitched the first three innings, striking out seven and allowing two hits and two runs.
Gavin Lincoln smacked two doubles, drove in a run and scored twice. James Hathorne, who pitched the final two innings, added two runs and three RBI.
Fisher Tewksbury and Drake Clowry each had two hits for Valley.
