Addison DeRoche pitched a one-hitter with 18 strikeouts and one walk, leading the top-seeded Stags (17-0) to a Class A South quarterfinal win over the eighth-seeded Tigers (9-9) in Portland.
Cheverus, ranked No. 1 in the Varsity Maine poll, will play Saturday against the winner of Friday’s quarterfinal between Windham and Gorham. That game was rained out Thursday.
Hailey Lamontagne had two hits, including a double, and finished with two RBI and three runs scored. Cameron Gagnon also doubled, Anna Goodman had two hits and three RBI, and Kylie Lamson chipped in with two hits and two RBI.
Corinne Ramunno got the only hit for Biddeford.
