Lana Waite struck out 15 batters to help the top-seeded Cougars (16-1) bounce the eighth-seeded Hawks (6-11) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Dixfield.
Dirigo will host No. 5 Old Orchard Beach (10-7) in the semifinals on Saturday.
Waite allowed three hits and three walks over seven innings. She also went 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple and an RBI. Madisyn Bradeen tripled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice. Abby Luczynski had two hits and two RBI, and Leah Turnbull had a double and an RBI for Dirigo.
Charlotte Cyr had two of Sacopee Valley’s hits, including a triple, and drove in the lone run.
