Daisy Vining pitched a one-hitter while striking out eight, and the Bucks (15-2) advanced in the Class D South playoffs with a four-inning quarterfinal win over the Bereans (6-11) in Buckfield.
Top-seeded Buckfield advances to face No. 4 VInalhaven (13-3) in the semifinals.
The Bucks rapped 13 hits. Brooklyn Richardson doubled and drove in four runs, while Chloee Bennett went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and two runs, and Addie Morris was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs. Sophie St. Pierre and Avery Zielinski added two hits each.
Elise Pierson had eighth-seeded Temple Academy’s lone hit.
