EDWARD LITTLE 6, MESSALONSKEE 3

Edward Little is back in the Class A North final as a low seed after defeating Messalonskee 6-3 on Saturday at Colby College.

The eighth-seeded Red Eddies will face seventh-seeded Bangor in the regional final Tuesday at Morton Field in Augusta. Edward Little, which has won eight of its past 10 games, reached the A North title game as a seventh seed last year.

Brady Vincent pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings for Edward Little on Saturday before reaching his pitch limit. Owen Scott took over on the mound with the bases loaded. He walked in a runner and allowed a two-run single before inducing a ground out to end the threat and the game.

Edward Little scored three runs in the third, one in the sixth and two in the top of the seventh to take a 6-0 lead into the final half-inning. Eli St. Laurent had three hits and drove in two runs for the Red Eddies.

Ryan Card and Jack Hammond each had two hits for the fourth-seeded Eagles (12-6).
