Noelle Mallory scored 8:50 into overtime to give top-seeded Cape Elizabeth a 2-1 win over fourth-seeded Freeport in a Class B South girls soccer semifinal Friday in Cape Elizabeth.

Mallory briefly went to the turf after clashing heads with a defender on a corner kick as the ball was played away from the goal. Cape Elizabeth (16-0) quickly sent the ball back into the box, however, and Mallory got back to her feet just in time to corral the ball with her back to the goal, then spin around and send a shot into the right corner.

Mallory assisted on the game’s first goal at 25:20 of the first half, executing a give-and-go with her sister, Alexa, who drilled a shot from 20 yards into the left corner.

Freeport (8-7-1) needed only 48 seconds to respond. Isla Pattershall scored on a breakaway after a through ball from Keely Furtney.
