Joseph Goraj hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning and the 10th-seeded Tigers (7-10) rallied to beat the seventh-seeded Bulldogs (11-6) in a Class B North prelim in Fairfield.
Gardiner advances to face No. 2 Cony in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Grayson Greenleaf also had an RBI single in the seventh inning as Gardiner scored twice to earn the win. Greenleaf had three hits and two RBI. He also pitched a complete game, allowing one run on six hits while striking out four and walking two.
Dawson Moore pitched a complete game for Lawrence, which scored in the third and fourth to take a 2-0 lead. He allowed two earned runs on six hits, struck out eight and walked three.
