The Capers (12-5) scored two runs on errors in the bottom of the sixth inning to grab a Class B South quarterfinal win over the Lakers (12-6) in Cape Elizabeth.
Finn Connolly pitched 6 2/3 innings for No. 4 Cape Elizabeth, which advances to face No. 1 Fryeburg Academy on Saturday. He allowed one unearned run on four hits while striking out eight and walking two. Caiden Johnson recorded the final out.
Joseph Grela had three hits and scored twice for Cape Elizabeth.
Jaiden Meehan and Shane Plummer each hit a double for Lake Region.
