The showdown of Falcons was won on the ground. Sam Willard ran for three touchdowns as the Freeport Falcons rumbled past the Mountain Valley Falcons during a season opener in Rumford.
Willard scored from 6, 5 and 3 yards out. Andrew Thomas added a 25-yard TD run for Freeport (1-0)
Mountain Valley’s (0-1) Blake Small tossed two touchdown passes, a 10-yarder to Dylan Theriault and a 62-yard connection with Diquari Thompson.
