The Warriors (4-3) took advantage of two York mistakes to build an early 14-0 lead on their way to a win over the Wildcats (1-6) in Wells.
York’s first possession ended quickly when Darion Lemont intercepted a pass and returned it to the 5-yard line. Kevin Bolduc plunged in from the 2 to give Wells a 7-0 advantage.
Then, a bad snap from punt formation allowed the Warriors to take over at the York 7, setting up Noah McDonough’s TD run on the next play.
Wells made it 22-0 in the second quarter when Lemont slipped behind York’s defense and caught a 54-yard pass from McDonough.
York averted a shutout when Sam Jancovic scored on a 5-yard run with less than two minutes remaining.
