The defending Class A champion Trojans jumped out to a 48-point lead in the first half and cruised to a season-opening win over the Red Storm in Saco.

Noah Fullerton threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter, two to Logan LeBlanc and one to Logan O’Keefe. Quinn Cook returned a punt 75 yards for a score before the end of the quarter as Thornton went up 27-0.

Danny Howe returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter, and Brennan Tabor and Caleb Parenteau each scored rushing touchdowns before halftime.

Caleb Parenteau added a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
