A SOUTH PRELIM: #12-DEERING VS. #5-GORHAM

Rylyn McInnis had a goal and an assist, and fifth-seeded Gorham (11-4) defeated 12th-seeded Deering (5-9-1) in a Class A South prelim in Gorham.

McInnis set up Taylor Chadburn in the first half, and scored the final goal in the second half. Adrianna Russo converted a penalty kick and Courtney Cyr also scored for Gorham, which advances to play fourth-seeded Kennebunk at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Sawyer VonderHaar earned the shutout with five saves. Deering’s Keely Beyland stopped eight shots.
